Crow Island School is generally regarded as the first modern elementary school in the country. Built in 1941, the building itself is an expression of child-centric, progressive education. As part of a collaboration with VS, a company that specializes in school and office furniture, we travelled to Winnetka, Illinois, to help tell the story of this remarkable structure and the design philosophy behind it.
